Shortage of Military Chaplains - Calling All Ministers to Arise

The shortage of chaplains in the U.S. military is due to ministers inability to embrace war. The Bible clearly says one of the ten commandments is "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13). Of course chaplains don't kill, but serving those who do can sometimes put them in harms way and as some feel says they endorse killing themselves. On the other hand as a worldwide minister myself who has been to many war-torn countries and the tsunami epicenter, going to disaster areas and providing rescue relief is the ultimate ministry.

Sadly American consumerism and self-centered culture has crept into the church and captured too many ministers hearts whereby they are not willing to sacrifice for their country. Missionary zeal is lacking across the American church as fear grips hearts and foreign travel has decreased significantly. The opposite should be the case, as when the nations are being shaken is when the church should be awaking humanity. Instead many sleep and remain in dead religious lethargy.

It's time to awaken the remnant and remind ministers of the cause of Christ to go into all the world and preach the good news. U.S. military need to hear and be ministered to. I can think of no better calling than to serve my country divine spirituality that liberates humanity and makes men dwell together peaceably.

Chaplains are the missing element and variable the U.S. State Department and the present administration has most overlooked in the war on terror. Generals have repeatedly said the war will not be won militarily, but we must win the hearts and minds of the people. Turning them from murderous religion requires meaningful ministry and chaplains to give their life for a higher purpose.

That being said women married to these great men must be supportive and not self-willed and stubborn about giving them to the great commission. Those within military should receive ministry from a chaplain regardless of his denomination, as ultimately Christ is the head of the church. No church can save you because no church died for you! Christ alone is the Savior and light of the world.

As I recently watched Bob Hope tour with the U.S.O. my heart burned within me to do the same. "Here am I send me!" I will go anywhere in the world to speak and minister to the troops! That being said the military should open wide the door of utterance and not rigidly impose stipulations of full-time enlistment to minister.

Paul F. Davis - worldwide minister who has worked at Ground Zero the first week of 9/11 and traveled to over 50 countries (many war-torn) and 6 continents uplifting humanity with the good news of Christ. Paul has been to Pakistan, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Indonesia (the tsunami epicenter), India, Myanmar, and East Timor during the war to name a few hotbeds where he has risked his life to minister to humanity.
